5.Working in Partnership
Most of the time big hospitals outsource the dental department and they give that department to post-graduation. So you have an extra advantage.

6. Pursue a higher degree in India or Abroad
If you want to go to research work then MDS will open door to this.
7. At the last Personal Satisfaction
Satisfaction may be different for everyone. Someone can have money, someone can have both money and passion and for someone, it can only be passion.

Disadvantages of MDS

1.Time
Your three will pass just to get only one degree. If you are not a bright student then after three years also you will find yourself on the level of BDS only.

2. Going Abroad
Further, if you want to go to a developed country like America then you will have to clear the DDS exam which takes complete 2 years.

3. Very less salary in the private sector
Nowadays young MDS get very less salary in which no one can live a good life.

4. Almost the same struggle if you open a clinic
In India, there is very little thing called specialty. It rarely happens that a dentist is sending you a patient of RCT. And by performing the only RCT they prefer those patients to Prosthodontist. So, to open a clinic you need to know all basic procedures.

We all believe that how can a dental clinic be made successful? We do not even have an answer when things are not on our side. Or do we not even answer that the second dentist who had less money than us but today he has everything we dream of? That is, there is another reason for success which we do not know.

Let’s understand with an example.

Why is APPLE company so innovative?

It does something different every year and everyone else copies it. Although it is also a computer company it is also like others. It also has the same talented people as Samsung. It also uses the same marketing agencies that everyone else does. It also has money, so do other companies. But why their results are different?

Why everyone was ready to sacrifice their life for Mahatma Gandhi only? He was not the only one whom the British ruled. He was not the only one who was a victim of social discrimination. It was not at all like that he was single a very good speaker. Why could the right brothers make a plane, they did not even have money and education?

Something else we don’t even know about in this game. About three to four years ago, I read a book named ‘Start With Why By Simm Sinek’ and it changed my way of thinking. I found out that every big business and big leader has only one way. They all think in the same way, they work and take their words to another. And this simple idea is called the Golden Circle.

Let me explain this quickly.

Every one of us knows what a dentist does. We all know that we provide dental services. But very few of us know how do we do that. Meaning that we do not know how different we are from other dentists and what is our USP. And rarely would a dentist know Why are they doing dentistry. And by ‘why’ I don’t mean to make a profit. Earning money is a result. I am asking you for your reason, I am asking you about your belief. I want to ask why you and your clinic does only Exist.

What happens from this now?

The way we think, the way we act, the way we communicate to our patients is from outside to inside. And it is also right that we first tell what we know properly and the last one we know less i.e. what, how and why, etc. But inspired dentist and successful dental clinic regardless of their size and locality, they all think, act and communicate from inside out I.e. why, how, what.

Let’s understand this with an example

Taking the example of the Apple company because most people know about it. If Apple were like any other company, then its advertisement would be like this:- we make great computers.

They are beautifully designed.
Simple to use and user-friendly.
Want to buy one.

And in the same way, we also communicate and we do the marketing of our clinic in the same way.
And that’s how we provide treatment and talk to our patients.

After that, we tell that what we do. We tell how we are different or better than others. Then we want to connect with people. This is our new clinic. We are gold medalist, we have these degrees, we have this fellowship, we have a degree of MDA, we have the latest machine and technology. Come and get your treatment.

This is very common and uninspiring.

And that’s why we all want to buy Apple’s computer. But we want to buy more products from Apple like a watch, IPad, Mobile, etc.
And Apple is also an ordinary computer company.

The structure of the Apple company is like other companies only. And the rest of the competitors are equally qualified in making these products. Some of them tried too.

For example:- Dell introduced mobiles and tablets but no one purchased it.

Will you buy a mobile phone from a computer company? Your answer will be NO. But everyday people are buying mobile phones from Apple Company because people don’t buy what you do they buy why you do it.

Customers should not get treatments from us just because we are dentists. They search our WHY too. If your why is money-making then customers will call you greedy and walk away from there.

Remember that our goal is not to provide treatment to every person whom we need.
It should be our goal that every person associated with us puts their belief in our belief. And the interesting thing is that whatever I am telling you here all these things also happen in our body. If you look at the horizontal cross-section of the brain, you will find that the brain is made up of three major components and these all three components relate to Golden Circle.

The outer part and newest part of our brain are called neocortex and it shows the What component of the Golden circle.
This neo-cortex brain is responsible for our whole analytical and rational thoughts. Our language processes here.
The middle two sections of the brain are called the limbic brain and this part of the brain is responsible for our feelings like trust and loyalty. This part is responsible for our decision making too and this part can’t understand our language.

If I say in other words when we communicate from outside to inside then people will under what are the benefits of an implant, what are its procedure, it’s made up of what? They will understand all facts and figures but even then also they can’t make the decision for an implant.

But when we communicate from inside to outside, we directly talk to that part of the brain which controls our behavior. We directly lit its trust and then people believe this thing by applying logic. And this is the limbic brain from where the gut feeling comes.

You must have noticed it many times that you tell everything about treatment and at the last patients will say that you are telling everything right But I do not believe in treatment so there is nothing like this but this is because that part of the brain does not understand the language. If you will ask any person who has Ferrari that why you have bought Ferrari he will reply that for comfort, looks, and speed but in reality this is not the reason. People buy Ferrari for their feelings and status.

And the decision of this status and feeling is taken by the Limbic Brain.

So friends if you don’t know you’re why, you don’t know why are you running your dental practice then patients will report to “what you do” Only. Then how will you sell your costly services? How will you make your patients loyal? And most importantly how will you make your patients a part of your dental family.

I am saying it again the goal is not the only one to provide dental treatment to the patients but take the people who tell your belief their belief.

Remember that our goal is not just to provide a job to the people who need a job. We should keep those people who believe in our beliefs. If you will just keep people on the job so that they can do their work well then they will do it just for money. If you will hire those people who believe in your belief then he will do his job with all his efforts and for this, you can take the example of Write Brothers. Hardly anyone has heard the name Samuel Pierpont Langley in us.

We are a hundred years back at that time everyone in America was trying to fly. Unlike nowadays people are busy connecting with the internet and earn money there. Every company wants to fly.
Samuel Pierpont Langley has all the things which we call the recipe for success. Does it mean if you will ask any dentist that why is your clinic is not working? He will reply to this only.

First is undercapitalized
Which means he has not that much money to open a big clinic in a better place.

Second is wrong people

They don’t have talented people.

Third, is a bad market condition
Nowadays competitions have increased and have no money for advertisement.

In 1901, Samuel Pierpont Langley gave 50,000 dollars in the war department which nowadays equals 50,000 crores just to make something which can fly.
So money wasn’t a problem. He was a teacher in Harward and he knew all the scientists of that time. He had hired the best brain at that time who can buy money. That’s why he had the best team.
The market conditions were fantastic. No competition was there at that time. And every newspaper published their every step in the newspaper. This means they had the best market condition. But then also why didn’t you heard the name of Samuel Langley.

A short distance away there were two brothers named Orville and Wilbur WriteWrite and they have nothing in their success recipe and even they don’t have money too. They used to take out money from their bicycle shop to fulfill their dream. Both of them did not go to college nor did their team members go to college means his team was also nothing special. Anyone didn’t use to print their information in the newspaper. There was a difference. The write brothers had a dream that if they made a flying machine, the world would change.

Here Samuel Langley is different. He wanted to be rich and famous. He was following the result and see what happened. People who believed in Write Brothers, they used to work with all their efforts in less salary also. And people who used to work with Samuel, they worked only for money.

After that friend of Write, Brothers told me that they used to take 5 sets and those 5 sets used to crash daily and after that they took their all goods, return from there and then eat something.
And on December 17, 1903, Write Brothers fly their first flight but no one was there to see that scene. We came to know it after many years.

And the further proof that Langley was motivated by wrong things was on the day when Wright Brothers fly their first flight, he quit.
He could have also been said that let’s do it together in a more efficient way but he didn’t.
Firstly he wasn’t a good human being.
Secondly, he had never been rich.
Thirdly he didn’t become famous so he quit.

So I say it again that
People don’t buy what you do
People buy why you do it.

If you talk about belief then you will attract those people towards you who believe in your belief.

Today I am going to tell you 10 laws so that you can double your sales. By the way, marketing is a big topic. We do the lectures hands-on of two complete days. Today I will talk about some important topics of this topic only.

So let’s start.

No matter how well you treat, how good is your clinic, how much much latest technology you have bought, it is useless if you don’t tell about it to people and hide it from them.

Then neither you nor anyone can take the benefit from it. That’s why marketing is very important.
Marketing is one of the most important parts of any business. According to a study, companies spend 12% of their profit in marketing and big companies invest more than 50% in their marketing.

Once a person was not getting a job so he hanged a big hoarding on the main road in which his face was made with hiring me written on it. With the help of his unique idea he got many offers for jobs and he selected the job which he wishes to do and joined there. So in today’s competitive world, it’s very important to understand marketing. And this is 100%true that as much as a person understands Marketing, he will be that much success in life.

Now you all know about the importance of marketing, so now the question comes that how will we do marketing. That we will discuss today.
No matter how expensive we buy composite. But if we do not take the composite isolation proper steps into account, the feeling will be dislodged. But think if you see a cow in a purple color, then you stop and look at it. It may be possible that you will take a selfie with it and upload it on Facebook. Similarly, if you want to make your business successful, then you have to do something different. People will not give you attention if you make the clinic and do the marketing in the same way as others did.

If I ask you who put the first step on the moon your answer will be Neil Armstrong. But the name of the second third man would not be known. So you have to do something new. You have to provide some new services which are yet not being provided in that area. This will give you a lot of advantages and help in marketing.

SECOND LAW IS LAW OF CATEGORY

You don’t know the name of another person who goes to the moon but you must be knowing the name of Kalpana Chawla because she was the first Indian Origin Woman who went on space.
Therefore, this law says that you may not become a market leader. Because no one else has a position, but you can become a leader in a different category of science. That is why you will see that a big company is not a leader in every field but it is a leader in a segment or a category.

Many times the matter of advertisement is not true because that thing comes first in our mind then we buy it. That’s why you also have to print the name of your clinic on people’s minds. So that people remember your name as soon as they have a toothache.

FOURTH LAW IS LAW OF PERCEPTIONS

Marketing is not just about memorizing the name of your clinic but to create a perception.
Let’s understand with an example:-
Apple brings many products and features that are not better than the rest of the competitors or they are not new but still, it’s the customer is buying these things and recommending it. Because the customers of Apple company believe that the products of Apple are the best, they are of premium quality and are better than other products. Rather, Apple’s customers are so loyal that they will fight you if you do evil of the Apple product. Here, Apple has created a perception in the customers’ mind that Apple is the best and for who are different. In the minds of such people, you have to create such an awesome perception for yourself.

FIFTH LAW IS LAW OF FOCUS

If I will say that I have to eat pizza while sitting at home you will start remembering Domino’s Pizza.
30 minutes of delivery or free.
Because their marketing was very clear that if you want to eat pizza soon, call Domino’s Pizza.
Such companies focus on one of their features. It can be some words, lines so that after listening to that word they can remind your company.
For example- cold drink means Coca Cola

These companies have done their marketing in such a way that we have learned these words and lines. You can also use some words, emotions, and lines in your marketing so that the customer can remember them easily.

SIXTH LAW IS LAW OF EXCLUSIVITY

You should not copy the marketing messages of others, it causes loss.

Let’s see with an example :-
After seeing the achievement of Domino’s 30 min delivery, many companies copied this but they become unsuccessful because somewhere they were promoting Domino’s and people started remembering domino’s more from this.

SEVENTH LAW IS LAW OF LADDER

You should know very well that which a number of dentists you are in your area and you should do your marketing according to this only.
For example- Hert was one of the Leading American Car Rental companies. It was on the No. 1 position and that time Avis company was on the second number. Now, Avis gave a message in their marketing campaign that “we are in different places and we do more efforts and we will provide more care to you so choose us.
And their this marketing message was so successful. If you are a new dentist then you can also say that we will take care of you more, treat you in a better way and will use new techniques.

EIGHTH LAW IS LAW OF DUALITY

Whatever new you do, bring any new machine, others will come to give you competition.
It will never happen that you will be alone in that market, someone will definitely come to compete with you. And it can also be there that your fight is with more people, but the main fight can only between two people.

For example:-
Coca-cola vs Pepsi
Android vs IOS
Windows vs MAC

The good thing is that you can take advantage of each other’s competition and you can use it for yourself. You can make people your strong supporter. If you have seen my other video, then in that I have told that people want to follow. Then you should share your belief and USP to those who are different from your competitors. Then those who trust your belief will become your loyal customers.

NINTH LAW IS LAW OF OPPOSITE

Many times clinics make a mistake that he battles with its competitor’s Strongpoint.
Pizza companies started the competition with Domino’s 30 minutes fast delivery in which they get lost from it. This would have been better if they would have said that they take some more time so that they can provide better quality and taste.
It is like happens in wrestling
Player drops their opponent using strong force.
In exactly the same way, you have to make a strong point of your Opponent weak.

You have to do Opposite Marketing with your competition. If any clinic describes themselves as the oldest, then you can market your clinic as a new clinic with new treatment and new facilities.

OUR FINAL LAW IS LAW OF PERSPECTIVE

I used to think that everyone knows about coca-cola, Colgate, Pepsi, etc. then why do these companies advertise. But now I understood when these add works, whenever I think of the cold drink, coca-cola struck in my mind automatically at first. These add work in the long-run for them. Whenever people are outside or partying, they buy Coca Cola and Pepsi. You can call this thing branding too. These companies are making brand values. Some adds are good for the short-term and some are good for the long-term.

Many companies take out time offers and sell a lot and earn money in the short term. What happens in the long term, customers of these products wait for the discount at the normal price. So if you will do short-term marketing then you will not get long-term profit. And if you will do long-term marketing then you will not get short-term profit.

it’s really difficult to tell the charges to the patients after explaining the treatment. Neither we like this nor the patients like this because they will have to take a decision after that. As you explain the treatment, the environment becomes nervous. Your job is to make this environment smooth. So, today I will give you three tips regarding price so that patients do not bargain and their answer is yes.

MY FIRST TIP IS NO ONE CAN AFFORD IT

Whenever you tell someone the price for the first time, they will feel much more no matter how much you tell. There can be two reasons for this, first, he has no idea of treatment charges or secondly he has not yet prepared his budget for this. I had started my clinic in 2011 and the location of my clinic is in a lower-middle-class area. And there was a single chair in a small shop.
I keep the charge of my RCT Rs1200 in the starting.

Most of them go away telling me costly then I reduced my charges to Rs 1000. But no change I was still costly. After that, i reduced my charges to Rs. 800 then Rs. 600 but then also patients used to bargain. Then I came to know that no matter how much the price is, patients will not stop doing Bargaining. When we were also customers, we would also bargain either to an auto-driver Or to a vegetable vendor. Even we used to check deals and offers on the website before buying anything. We all like to bargain.

We all have limited money. If we are taking the decision to buy something then at the same time we are taking the decision not to buy something too. When you tell the price to the patients they used to be surprised so it’s very necessary to invest time in building value with them.

MY SECOND TIP IS WILLINGNESS TO PAY AND ABILITY TO PAY

These both are different things.
No one wants to give you that much money which you are asking for. Nobody wants to give his own money to you so that he can’t buy anything else.
But anyone can afford it or not is a very different thing.
Many people buy those things which they can’t afford because they have a lot of buying desire. Like you must have seen that a person who is working on wages has a smartphone in his hand. You would have seen people having those cars which they can’t afford.

So your goal is to improve the desire of the treatment and you can get this improvement by repeating and emphasizing the benefits of treatment. The more the patient wants that treatment, the less sensitive he will be to the price.

MY THIRD TIP IS NEVER TELL THE PRICE IN STARTING

The fundamental rule of selling is if you will tell the price before explaining the treatment then you will lose your sell. Because after hearing the price patients will lose interest in listening to your explanation about treatment. He has not made a decision yet for the treatment.

A lot of patients use to start asking about the price from the patient’s waiting lobby. You don’t have to tell the price to them till then you check and give the explanation about treatment. If you tell the price beforehand only then the price will become a big issue in the conversation.

Today I am going to tell the story of my friend ‘ANUJ‘.


My friend Anuj is a very laborious dentist. He enjoys dentistry a lot. He had done a lot of effort during his graduation and after that, he had done many courses to improve his skills. His dream was to become a famous dentist. To fulfill his dream he thought to do the job as a somewhere. By finding for jobs he got his job in one of the leading dental chain. Till now, Anuj had never worked in a clinic. After some time he started providing good treatment. One day he thought to open his own new clinic. He thought to keep his charges low and provide the best treatment and in this way, he could save few money too.

He shared his idea with his parents and friends. Everyone liked his concept and he opened his own clinic in a sub-urban place with the help of his parents.

In the starting, he suffered from the problem that very few patients used to come in his clinic. Being having good price and treatment quality no one knows about his clinic.
Then he realized that marketing is very important and he started putting double effort. He became active on social media and after that, some patients started coming to his clinic but that wasn’t sufficient. He distributed Pamphlets, hanged hoardings, started doing camps by saving his money. He got the benefit of this and the number of patients increased after that my friend Anuj became busy and marketing was stopped.

An increase in the number of patients lead to new difficulties. Anuj was not capable to handle all the work alone like keeping cleanliness, scheduling patients, delivering good treatment, doing marketing.

So finally after seeing the profits, he hired a BDS staff. She was a BDS fresher female who wanted to work because she does not want to sit at home until she gets married. Now my friend started thinking that he is a businessman now. He transferred his many of the patients to his junior dentists and he transferred some of them to practice management.

Everything was going well but suddenly a problem occurs. Complaints started coming in treatment. The right diagnosis could not be made by young BDS. Patients management was also not good. Actually BDS who was hired by Anuj was very lazy. She does not have more interest in treatment. After teaching her so good no change could be seen in her. That is why patients were not happy and some of the patients always used to ask for treatment from Anuj only. Some patients walked out due to unsatisfactory.

Anuj wanted to do marketing and handle his business on his own that’s why he was not able to give his focus on treatment. So, when profit started decreasing Anuj decided to treat the patients by himself and refused his junior dentists to do the treatment and again he started doing everything by himself.

Now my friend has extended his work so he became busier. Now he uses to do a job in his own clinic from 09:00 am in the morning till 10:00 pm at night. In between, he just takes 3 hours break for lunch and he is not utilizing that time properly.

He is not earning more money.
Neither he is giving time to his family nor enjoying anything. Now, he is just doing a highly demanding job in which salary is also less. Slowly my friend became frustrated. Now he doesn’t enjoy doing the treatment and he just wants to leave everything and run away.

After seeing all this my friend Anuj decided to keep an experienced dentist who can make his life easier. And finally, he got a talented, energetic BDS employee. Now Anuj’s work has decreased a little bit. After sometimes work has increased more and Anuj thought to hire one more employee and this time Anuj was determined that he need a talented employee only. After searching a lot Anuj kept an employee who used to see dental clinic’s marketing and patients management.
Now everything was going right.

But after doing this much profit margin started diminishing. After taking out every employee’s salary, rent, lab bill, material bill, Anuj was left with nothing much. Anuj thought to increase the charges but due to that customers get reduced and overall it doesn’t change his profit margin much. Now Anuj is running in a type of rat race trap in which he is doing the job in his own clinic and not many conditions have changed in the last five years.

Such types of problems occur during running a successful clinic.

Due to these problems, many of the clinics close or can just survive because doctors know nothing else to do and clinic is in their own property so they don’t have to pay rent too.

Research has revealed that after having much knowledge about their own work 8 out of 10 businesses fail in the starting 18 months only.
And this is not the failure of luck. Behind this there are some myths, reasons, misunderstandings which lead to failure.

Michael E Gerber tells this thing in a very good way in his book The E Myth. Today I will tell you some of his things.

If you know how to do good dental treatment then it doesn’t mean that u can run a dental clinic in a good way. And this is the biggest reason for failure. To run a good business and to be a good dentist are two different things. The entrepreneur makes a new house and starts thinking about another house too and the manager makes a house and lives there for a lifetime.

If you want your clinic to be successful then it’s necessary to have three qualities in an owner or you will need three different people to run the business.

First an entrepreneur
Second a manager
Third a dentist

Entrepreneurs are those who give vision to a company, decide big goals, make plans for the future of the dental clinic, and keep his whole team charged. These things are important for the dental business. The entrepreneur basically focuses on the future.

The manager is those who run the business in proper order, manages patients and employees and take responsibility to keep everything in order which gives a consistent outcome. A manager learns from his old mistakes and analysis after making his new strategy. The manager keeps the company in the past and learns from it.

The last and third person is a Dentist who manages the main work which means a dentist solves the problems of customers in a dental clinic.

My friend Anuj is a dentist but neither an entrepreneur nor a manager that’s why he was stuck in a rat race trap.
So for a successful dental clinic this three-person entrepreneur, manager, and dentist are needed.

If you can’t hire this three-person separately then you have to play the role of these three which was not there in my friend Anuj.

Just like Anuj, people who start a business they do this mistake and think that treatment is only the thing that they need to know.

My friend Anuj is 70% dentist, 20% manager, and 10% entrepreneur but to run a successful business all three qualities should be 33% respectively. So friends you also have to put all these three qualities in you. In my next video, we will see that how can you convert a small clinic into a dental clinic chain. And how my friend Anuj got out of this rat race.

So we were talking about my friend Anuj. Today I will tell some of the things that Anuj used and changed his life. Every business has three phases.

The first phase is the INFANCY STAGE

Most of the business starts at this stage. In this phase, work is done according to the owner’s wish not that which is best for the business. At this stage, the dentist uses to do all the work.
For example:- when Anuj had opened the clinic he himself was a dentist, manager, and entrepreneur and this happens with most of the people.

IF EVERYTHING GOES RIGHT THEN COMES ADOLESCENCE STAGE

This stage comes when the business starts growing and dentists realize that he himself can not run the business. That’s why they hire other people or make partners so that their business can improve.
For example:- when Anuj had hired the Junior BDS this stage had come. Everything was good but problems occurred after this too.
After coming to this stage we usually get three outputs.

FIRST ONE IS BACK TO STAGE 1

When the dentist has to give his work to his junior then he has to come out from his comfort zone. After that the work which the dentist thinks that he can do better, he has to give that work to someone else which doesn’t suit him and he can’t handle that. And even they don’t like the treatment of junior dentist too so they come again to the first stage. This has happened with my friend Anuj too when he again had started handling everything on his own which was actually not a good option.

The SECOND OUTCOME MAY BE THE INSTANT GROWTH OF DENTAL CLINIC

Dentists and employees both together also cannot handle the expectations of patients and things get out of control. Then the clinic suffers a bad name.

The THIRD OUTCOME BECOMES A BIG BATTLE FOR DENTAL CLINIC

Here they have to put all their efforts to run the clinic in a stable way. Due to which dentists can neither enjoy anything nor took the business on the next level.
And on this stage, only my friend Anuj had stuck. Years passed but the situation doesn’t change.
These all three outcomes are useless and this doesn’t let the business go on the next level which we call maturity level.

NEXT AND BEST PHASE IS MATURITY hird

This is the ultimate level of a business. All the big companies come under it. If you want to earn billions of rupees you have to bring your company’s level to this level. And to come to this level you have to take some steps which I am briefing here in 1-2 minutes.

First one thinks like a Franchise

When most of the dentist open their clinic they think like a dentist only which is very short-term.
They don’t know that after 2-3 years the clinic will be on which stage or what will happen after ten years or in which direction they want to take their clinic. They have only one goal that a large number of patients come to their clinic so that they could earn more money. And the same thing does not let them move forward.

If you have to create a big business then you have to think like a Franchise from starting only. You should think of the clinic as a Franchise Phototype which can be scaled.

The second one is clinic should be system dependent, not doctor dependent

Macdonald is not such a big company today because it makes the world’s best burger. But that’s because they sell the most burgers in the world. This is because they have made their rules so good and simple so that a college student without any experience can also get a job in MacDonald and make a burger and they don’t need any expert too.

This is the advantage of making a good system which is important for Franchise and you can see this thing in any dental chain. For example, let’s see about clove dental chain. They have more than 300 dental clinics in India. They hire young dentists in which many of them are freshers but they have made their system in such a way that they can provide treatment to all their patients similarly.

Most of the dentists make their clinic people dependent instead of system dependent. If a doctor leaves a job his experience also leaves the clinic with him. If he is the main doctor then he can’t go on holiday. Because if he exists the clinic exists and if he doesn’t exist the clinic will also not exist.

Now many of my friends must be thinking that it is not possible to make a system-dependent clinic from starting. But I want to tell you that when your business is on the infancy stage, you have to start preparing your system from that time only because you know all the things of your clinic either it is financial or marketing. You have to write all the steps and all the important things.
After that start hiring people for those places where you don’t feel confident. Like if you can’t manage the things properly u should bring a manager first.

The third one is work on the business not In the business.

If your clinic completely depends upon you then you are not doing business Instead you are doing a high demand job with less income. Dental business means you can live a life with a good lifestyle, not a job that won’t let you enjoy your life.

That’s why all the small works also should be done in documents and create processes after which we will call it system. Do not work on patients in the clinic randomly. You have to create a model that can give you Consistence, predictable and excellent output.

This is a question which comes in every dentist’s life. As soon as we come to the internship, this question starts troubling us and i was also in this phase at sometime and i also used to calculate the advantages and disadvantages of every option.

As you all know that the conditions of dentists have changed a lot in the last 15 years. Now, in India the life of dentist is not a cakewalk. We have to struggle a lot to live a smooth life whose simple reason is demand and supply rule. Every year 2.5 lac dentists pass out but we don’t need this much dentists in our society. That’s why many of us choose different options from dentistry.

So, let’s see what are those options that you can choose.

But before selecting remember that every person is  different.  We all have different strength, weakness and interest. The option which is good for your friend will also be good for you is not necessary.So, choose wisely.

OUR FIRST AND OBVIOUS OPTION IS MDS

 

Before selecting this option you have to ask some questions to yourself.

 

  1.  Are you interested in academics?

  2. Do you want to teach in any colleges?

  3. Do you want recognition in your friends? 

  4. Do you want specialization in a particular field ? 

  5.  

If the answers to this question is YES then you can choose MDS.

But next question comes that should we take paid MDS or not?  Which field should be selected? Is MDS needed to run a clinic or what after MDS?

The answers to these questions is out of the scope of this video. I will come with individual video on it after sometime.

OUR SECOND OPTION IS DENTAL POST GRADUATE COURSE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES

 

If you will search on the internet, you will get many of the coursescourses which can give you the degree of post graduate but many of these courses are not recognised by DCI.You will find difficulties during getting a job or you can complete the courses and settled in the respective country. But if you have done the courses for learning specialisation then you will get it.

OUR THIRD OPTION IS OPEN DENTAL ACADEMY

 

In India poor type of education is being provided in the colleges and you can take advantage of this by opening your own academy.

We have many examples that being BDS also people are excelling in a particular field.

They document their cases and then they sell their experiences and you can also select this option.

If you have the talent then this option is also too good.

OUR FOURTH OPTION IS OPEN DENTAL CLINIC

 

Many of us will choose this option. I had also done the same because I had not that much talent that i could clear the government exams and I didn’t have that much money too that i can buy an MDS seat. I also don’t wanted to change my field. So, I had opened the clinic.

 

I had done some mistakes while opening the clinic and I had suffered from it’s result for many years.

OUR FIFTH OPTION IS GOVERNMENT JOB AFTER BDS.

 

There are many few people in India who don’t want to do Government job. You can be directly an A class officer after BDS.

 

We have two options in government job.

  1. Working as a doctor

  2. Changing field

Nowadays most of the colleges and hospitald used to give jobs on contract basisbasis which is good for the freshers but future cannot be build on contracts. Less but some of the states and departments give vacancies for jobs on permanent basis on every 2-3 years like Army dental corps, Indian navy and airforce on contractual dental officers, state government jobs as dental surgeon, railway dental jobs, UPSC also take out few jobs for dental.

 

All the jobs require you to pass exams. So, study hard.

Next job types are A class post by UPSC, B & C class post by SSC, state government jobs, police jobs, bank jobs.

Reputation and salary both are good in this job but due to 70% of educated adults of the country are preparing themselves for these fields so exams are going to be really very tough.

OUR SIXTH OPTION IS GOING ABROAD AFTER BDS

 

Who don’t want to do job in America, Canada and Europe. So, now your competition is not only with Indian Dentists but with Global Dentists but once if you get the entry then all your labour is successful because you will earn way more than India.

If you have the talenttalent,  money and patience then you can surely move to developed countries and if you lack  of one then you can move to Middle East Sandi Countries for jobs. Here also you have to clear exams and you must have the experience of two years.

 

It happens many times that if you are unable to clear your DDS exam then foreign countries give you more opportunities like MBA, MHA, MHD, DENTAL HYGIENISTS, MASTER IN PSYCHOLOGY, DENTAL TECHNICIAN. 

OUR SEVENTH OPTION IS CARRIER IN CLINICAL RESEARCH

 

The meaning of clinical research is to evaluate that how much any drug, vaccine, diagnostic test, new device is good for the human body.

You can get these type of jobs after clinical research.

 

  1. Principal investigator

  2. Co- investigator

  3. Medical advisor

  4. Drug developer

  5. Technical writes

  6.  

But different science graduate can also join this course like BSc, BTech, BFarma, MFarma.

Do not expect any beneficial just because you are BDS. All are same in clinical research, experience and skills matters.

OUR EIGHTH OPTION IS CLINICAL COSMETOLOGY

 

If you are doing this course then you can provide these types of treatment like treating scars, hair transplant, removal of dark spots.

The knowledge which you have got during BDS will help you here in doing treatments. Many dentists keep it in add on with their dental clinic. But you can make your career in this.

Friends,  options could be more but you have to select an option according to your interest and talent because every option is good if you do it by all your heart.

IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT FROM YOUR CORE FIELD THEN OUR NINTH OPTION WILL BE MBA/MPH/MHA FROM ABROAD.

 

If you think that you have good management and communication skills then this option is for you.

But your job package and placement will depend on your college. So, if you choose this then work hard to clear entrance exam otherwise if you will get your master degree from a useless college then you will not get a good job.

OUR TENTH OPTION IS DIGITAL MARKETS

 

India is seeing digital revolution. Today everyone read about any diseases on internet or watch related videos. Because of this every doctor and clinic wants to come on internet in which they spend a lot of money. You can also take advantage of this and make your career. You can put your videos on Facebook and youtube and earn money but it’s not as easy as it sounds.

 

You can be a blogger by making websites for patients and dentistsdentists or you can be a medical content writer and can do free Lansing too. Or you can learn digital marketing and can can do it for the customers.

OUR ELEVENTH OPTION IS BEING A DENTAL TECHNICIAN/DENTAL SHOPKEEPER

 

Because we work on patients so we know exactly what patients demand and what dentists require from lab. So, if you can open your own dental lab then there are more opportunities that you can make your career well. And if you are a good business man then you can also sell the dental material and can find a good career in it.

OUR TWELTH OPTION IS MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTS OR MEDICAL CODING

 

If you are not searching your career in clinical field then it can be a good option. Many insurance companies from country abroad can provide you money for interpreting the doctor’s language. The advantage of this job can be when your friends will be searching for jobs your earning must have started at that time. You can get the opportunity to go to abroad or you can do the job by working at home too. And if you are ambitious then you can start your own company in future.
